I know, I know. I am so behind on reviews (LOL, which I seem to be doing all the time). I did some heavy damage to my wallet during the Sephora Friends & Family sale, so please do expect tons of product reviews coming up.

While hunting for a nice opaque lip color, I set my eyes on the MAKE UP FOR EVER Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick ($19). I've read some awesome reviews on this product, and it sure did not fail my high expectations. I picked up #39, a bright orange coral shade, which isn't your usual color for the Winter months, but I am a sucker for coral lips.

More about the product : A highly pigmented, long-lasting lipstick that delivers rich color in one stroke. Formulated with 50% more pigment than the traditional lipstick, Rouge Artist Intense gives an immediate true-to-color result. A blend of three natural waxes, the creamy texture glides on effortlessly for a long-lasting hold. The extensive color and texture range provides unlimited creativity. This product is sold exclusively at Sephora and are available in 3 finishes—matte, pearly, and satin.

The Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick comes in a variety of finishes (matte, pearly, satin), depending on the shade of the lipstick. #39 actually looks like a bright orange red in tube but applies with a much stronger coral tone. It is a very close dupe for the mega popular MAC Ever Hip Lipstick ($14.50) that was launched in the Give Me Liberty of London Collection earlier this year.

To me, the Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick is like the adult version of Ever Hip. It is brighter, stronger, creamier, and more opaque. It did not dry out my lips even after a whole day of wear, but also didn't give any moisturization. And it definitely takes some practice before you can get a smooth and even finish. Using a lip brush is highly recommended due to the somewhat "heavy" creamy texture. The best part about this product, other than the lovely bold pigmentation, is that the color stays on for hours, although it slowly gets rubbed away throughout the day. However, being careful of not eating or drinking excessively with the lipstick on, I was able to get at least 5-6 hours out of it, which is a very great performance.

I am in love with this lipstick and already have my eyes on more shades. Next time when my local Sephora gets more in stock, I will pick up #43 (Moulin Rouge), which I have heard many raves about.

If you pick the right color, this lipstick can be a perfect addition to a natural and long lasting daily look. However, with the bold formulation and high pigmentation, some of the brighter colors are more suitable for night looks or special occasions.

Last week, I bombarded you all with some nice new gift (or purchase for yourself) ideas that would benefit the Pink Campaign this month. Well, I think it is time to take a little break from all the "pinkness" and get our mind ready for the approaching autumn season. This fall, deep shades with a rock n roll theme are definitely on our "in" list. As many of you already know, I am not a big fan of OPI polishes; however, the SEPHORA by OPI Rocker Chic Mini Collection ($18) has some amazing colors that I could use, so of course I had to pick it up when browsing in Sephora (which I should have learned by now that "browsing" almost always turns into a purchase LOL).

Please note that polishes that come in these mini collections are much smaller than the regular sizes ones, so don't be shocked when you see the petite bottles. It gives you a decent amount of product and allows you to try out a variety of shades without paying a fortune. October has always been my favorite month of the whole year for many reasons. It's my birthday month. It's the month where I start to sense that the holiday season is approaching. As a beauty blogger and maniac myself, I would love to try out this new trend, but Chanel's whopping 75 bucks is a bit hard to swallow. How to wear the tattoos :

Wipe clean skin area with Tattoo Application Pad.
Apply tattoo design on the clean skin area.
Wet the design paper with the application pad. Press on the paper gently
Repeat step 3 until tattoo is fully trasnfered onto skin.
Air dry the area for 30 seconds and top it with translucent powder to set the design.
Repeat step 5 every time after exposing the tattoo to water.

Getting the design to transfer onto my arm was not the easiest task. Pressing too lightly will not work, but pressing too hard will cause some smudging (look, it's my 3rd time doing it, and I still managed to mess up the design). The tattoo looked nice for the first 5 mins and then went down hill from there. Although claimed to be waterproof, sweatproof, and long lasting, TEMPTU certainly did not keep up to its words. Even the slightest touch will lead to some smearing to the design. And the tattoo was half gone after I accidentally splashed water onto it when washing my hand. The tattoo definitely does not last for 2-5 days as TEMPTU promised. It was worse than the $1 ones my sister buys.

Pick It Or Not : NO because you can get a much better product for a lot cheaper. May be one that actually looks good and does last on the skin.

It is quite obvious that makeup is an expensive addiction. Many high end brands charge arms and legs for even the tiniest amount of makeup products. True, there are many more affordable choices out there, but the reality is, how many of us can really say no to something that the whole world is praising about. Fortunately, the good news is that many products, such as the Guerlain Météorites Perles ($56), do not live up to these raves and their hefty price tags, which ultimately kills our desire for these expensive "vanities".

More about the product : An illuminating powder that delivers pure radiance. Inspired by light and created by Guerlain, Météorites Pearls employ the technology of white light, which is used in photography and film to erase imperfections and soften features. A constellation of 6 multi-colored pearls blend together for a flawless, radiant complexion. Famous for their colorful pearls and radiant results, Guerlain's Meteorites offer women the ultimate in luminous skin. The secret? These magic beads each provide a skin-perfecting benefit, depending on which color you use. As with other Guerlain products, the pearls are boxed in an elegant and beautiful container, which does not seems to be made with cheap materials as what previous generations of the pearls did. Under the gorgeous patterned top is a puff, which is actually very convenient at applying the pearls. I did find that it is hard for makeup brushes to pick up much products, and I suspect this is due to the shapes and textures of the "balls". Even my Trish McEvoy Brush 5 Powder ($78) became kind of useless with this product, and the brush is famous to be used with powder products.

This product does contain quite a strong scent of baby powder, which is not necessarily a negative, but it is definitely not for everyone. As many have discovered, these "balls" create different benefits to the look, depending on the pearl's color.

Unfortunately, the pearls did not create the wonderful effect that was promised. Not only was it hard to pick up products from the "balls", it was extremely difficult to me to see any difference on my face before and after I applied the pearls. All I saw is a very faint layer of shimmers. It looked ok indoor, but outdoor under the bright sunlight, my face just looked so chalky and grayish. If you want a better payoff, try crushing some of the pearls before swirling your brush onto the product.

I was greatly disappointed and would not recommend this product to anymore. With this price tag, you can better off with some MAC Mineralized Skinfinish ($28).

No, because I am not about to throw my money into the ocean.

Urban Decay Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 : A Hot Summer Essential

The weather here in LA is getting ridiculously hot, and to add fuel to the fire, my work office's air conditioner is broken. So, I decided to ditch my heavy foundation and search for something much lighter for daily wear. I'm very glad to have found the Urban Decay Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 ($32), and I just can't seem to ever put it down.

More about the product : A tinted moisturizer that provides lightweight, buildable coverage, contains SPF 20, and battles free radical damage.

This tinted moisturizer is perfect for this hot weather as it has SPF 20 and contains multi-mineral complex that battles free radical damage. It has a light coverage, so it certainly won't cover everything on the face. However, it gives a very fresh and flawless finish. And as usual, I adore the Urban Decay packaging.

Take out the stopper and release some product from the pump head, which is very convenient to use, and a full pump is more than enough for the whole face.

This tinted moisturizer creates a dewy finish with a healthy glow. Powder it on top can also gives a completely different look. It lasts all day long. However, as with many other tinted moisturizers, the shade choices are limited. With only 4 colors to choose from, getting a good match is just as difficult as staying cool in this warm weather. I am about a MAC NC20-25, and I bought Bodyguard, which is a bit dark and yellow on me.

This tinted moisturizer is extremely easy to blend and sinks right into the skin. Although the shade is a bit off for me, I have been wearing this almost everyday because it just gives me that natural yet perfect skin.

Pick it or not ?
Yes, because fresh and light make me happy in this hot summer heat.

Lush Sunny Side Bubble Bar : Get Ready For Some Glamorous Chaos

I wish my MIA from blogging this past month was a glamorous chaos, but unfortunately, it was not. I recently took on a new position at work that required quite a bit of training and getting used to. I did peak around on a few blogs, but I was just too tired each day after work to draft up a post. I apologize for this, and hopefully some of my older posts kept you all busy.

If you ever visit a Lush store, there is no way you can miss the Sunny Side Bubble Bar ($6.95) blinging (?!) its gorgeousness at you.

Its full load of glitters is simply beautiful, but it also sheds them off like my cat's hair. They come off in chunks (lol). Even the slightest touch can get you this,

I would highly recommend to leave this in the Lush bag that it came with until you are ready to pop it in the bath. Glitters are only fun when they are not everywhere.

Lush bubble bars never disappoint me at making loads of bubbles, and this one is sure not an exception. The bubbles filled my bath tub and took the whole experience to a new level.

It's hard to describe how the bubble bar turned my bath water, and the pictures do not do it justice. The water color is so beautiful that I guarantee you it is something you have never seen before. It looks like a scene that you would see from Pandora (Yes, that is in Avatar).

If you are drooling over its beauty, then you better stop now because once you drain the tub, you can see the mess it left behind. The bath was fun, but the cleaning part was definitely not. It actually took me quite a while to completely get rid of all the glitters.

I love this bubble bar, but next time when I use it, I will make sure that I really need that extra bling. The citrus scent is amazing, and the whole bath experience is very unique. However, this is more suited for that special occasion rather than a every day treat.

Make Up For Ever Mist & Fix : An Alternative To MAC Fix+

I woke up extremely early today and took Angie to the vet for a regular check up. Carrying her around is like working out in the gym. Thanks to her, I was sweating like crazy by the time I got to the doctor's office. So, I was sitting there with all the dogs and cats around me. I can already notice that my makeup was melting off of my face, so I took out my Make Up For Ever Mist & Fix ($27). Yes, I was touching up my makeup with the bulldog staring at me.

More about the product : A light and comfortable spray that sets all types of makeup and prolongs hold, even under extreme conditions. For busy women who want to go from work to an evening dinner out and don't have time to go home for touch ups, spray mist and fix on a thick tissue and pat gently on the face to refresh your makeup. Then apply a veil of compact powder to give your complexion a velvety texture for the evening.

I would say that this is an excellent alternative to the MAC F+ ($18). They pretty much do the same thing. Spray a thin layer over your tired face or foundation, and it instantly refreshes the look. I didn't notice any differences between the two products. The only flaw with the Mist & Fix is that this contains a very strong perfumed fragrance. It is quite strong when first applied but quickly disappears after a short while. I would only recommend the MAC one or this alternative if you really feel a need for these products. Otherwise, any hydrating sprays such as the Evian Large Mineral Water Spray ($15) or even a bottled water with spray cap would do the same trick with much more affordable prices.

I am so glad that this hectic week is coming to an end, and that I can come back to blogging. As promised, I am bring you a review of one of my current favorite skincare product, St. Ives Naturally Clear Green Tea Cleanser ($6.49).

I have been a loyal user of some of St. Ives' products such as its Invigorating Apricot Scrub ($6.54), so when I saw a praise of this new face cleanser from one of my favorite bloggers, I headed straight to my local CVS. This is formulated without Parabens and Phthalates, oil free, and hypo-allergenic, which is extremely suitable for oily and sensitive skin. This cleanser comes with a relaxing scent that is very gentle and not overpowering. It contains Salicylic Acid, which is very effective at acne treatment. What I especially love about this product is the fact that it is non-comedogenic, which means it will not clog pores.

This product leaves your face feeling clean and silky without that oily residue feeling. Unfortunately, the cleansing ability could need some improvement. This is a very decent cleanser if you wear moderate amount of makeups. However, if you wear a lot of waterproof eye makeups or heavy foundation, be prepare to rely on another cleanser afterward or repeat the cleansing process with this product twice. I usually use this cleanser in the morning, which is more than enough to remove all the dirt that accumulated on my face over night. It gets the job done without drying out my skin but still gives me that clean sensation.

I've noticed that Sephora has been taking on new brands in the past few months which is always an exciting news for beauty adventurers like myself. Tarina Tarantino is a fashion editor and jewelry designer who is known for her luxury and glamorous style. Recently, the accessory queen launched her own cosmetic collection exclusively at Sephora in January. I have already reviewed the Pearl Glow Primer ($32) from her makeup line, but it left me a bit disappointed. Thus, I decided to take on another trial with the Magic Hour Cream Shadow ($19).

More about the product : An ultra-pigmented, water-resistant, lightweight formula that works brilliantly as a shadow or liner. This versatile essential features a unique velvet-like texture that glides on evenly and smoothly, leaving an intense wash of rich, long-lasting color. Worn alone, it delivers a beautiful pop of shimmering color. It can be built and layered for customized coverage and makes an excellent base for Eye Dream Hypershadow, helping to intensify color payoff.

I tried out the color Purple Velvet, which is a very beautiful deep metallic violet shade. The cream shadow has very good pigmentation and is perfect to be used as either a base or by itself. What I extremely love about this product is its texture. Its texture is very different from other cream shadows I've had. It is very smooth and silky. It almost doesn't feel like a cream product. It is super easy to spread and creates a very even and smooth finish. What I even like more about the product is that it does not crease at all, with or without primers. This is quite surprising because cream products will tend to crease no matter what. Let's just say that this is definitely a pleasant surprise. I have been wearing this for 6+ hours each day without even a tiny bit of color creases or melts off. One minor complaint I have about the it is that I hate dipping my fingers into the little jar, but I guess nothing is perfect, right?

Blogosphere Buzz : MAC To The Beach Collection

The much anticipated MAC collection, To The Beach, is definitely not disappointing. The summer collection launched in U.S./Canada a few days ago, and most of the collection had already sold out online and in stores. This is one of the biggest collections that MAC had came out with recently, with 31 products debuting all at once. The retro and summer themed packaging attracted many attention, and certain items, such as the Marine Life Highlight Power ($26), has been the talk of the blogosphere world. Unfortunately, the collection is flying off the shelve so quick that if you are interested in any of the products, go get it now.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the highlight powder. However, both my MAC counter and MAC store said that they are expecting another shipment of Marine Life soon, so if any of you ladies is still looking for it, call your MAC and ask about their restock date. Luckily, I was able to get everything else on my wishlist from this collection.

Blush

Hipness ($18.50) : is a very beautiful coral blush with pink undertone. It was originally released with the Fafi Collection. The subtle golden shimmer in the blush is very pretty but not overwhelming. This is the blush to have for the summer.

Eyeshadow

Firecracker ($14.50) : is a coral shade with a very strong orange undertone. Under certain lightening, it is almost an orange color. It has very high pigmentation and shows up beautifully.
Sweet & Punchy ($14.50) : is a very unique yellowish green color. It is the most anticipated shade from this collection and is definitely not something that you usually see from MAC. It is very similar to Nars Rated R Duo Eyeshadow ($32), which has a much stronger greenish tone.

Lipstick

Thrills ($14) : is a very pretty rosy red color with golden shimmer and a bronze undertone. The color is a perfect shade to hit the beach with.

Lipgloss

Easy Lounger ($14) : is a baby pink shade with silver shimmer. It's not something special and can be easily duped. The color is also very sheet. I got it only because I had some B2M empties. Otherwise, I probably would have just skipped this.
Flurry of Fun ($14) : is a peachy color with very beautiful teal shimmer. It is also very sheer but the teal shimmer is very unique. This is my favorite out of the 3 lipglosses.
Splashing ($14) : is a blue toned pink shade. It can easily duped and would be nice to pair with Angel lipstick ($14).

If the word "LOST" randomly pops up on my blog, then you know that I am still in my LOST withdrawn stage, which will probably last for the days and weeks to come. Seriously, I felt that there is something missing in my life, now that I don't ever have another episode of the drama to look forward to. Well, this sure isn't the time for my usual long product reviews (because I am thinking about watching a recap marathon) so I thought I would do something short and fun.

This topic came up to me when I was talking about my recent purchase with my sister. Although I do set limits on how much I spend on a lipgloss or an eyeliner, I also like to pay good money for things that I really like. My philosophy has always been that expensive or not, it really depends on each person's preference. A $10 lipstick may be expensive to someone, but if I like it, I may think it is worth it. However, very often, when we have to empty out our wallets, it is just not easy no matter what the product is or how much we like it.

After almost a year of research and waiting?!, I finally caved in and bought the famous Clarionsonic Plus ($225) a few months ago.

Clinique Acne Solutions Liquid Makeup Is Meds For Your Skin

I think I don't have to repeat myself again that I am a big fan of Clinique, especially its skincare products. If you read back any one of my reviews mentioning the brand, you would see my praise for it. Anytime Clinique releases a new product, I will be the first to jump in line for a try out. Well, of course then it didn't come as a surprise when I took home the newly launched Clinique Acne Solutions Liquid Makeup ($24.50) after taking a walk in Sephora.

More about the product: "A liquid makeup that neutralizes redness and blends away blemishes. It feels so fresh, and looks so natural! This non-irritating, oil-free makeup blends away blemishes and neutralizes redness. The medicated ingredients help treat existing breakouts and keep them from coming back."

Unfortunately, with only 8 shades, it is almost impossible and obviously very hard for anyone to get a good skin color match. I am about a MAC 20-25 (more on the 20 side), and #2 Fresh Ivory is pretty close for me but definitely not a perfect match. I guess we just have to make it work under limited choices.

The foundation has a medium coverage and is very buildable. The coverage is decent for me, but if you have many acne scars or other spots, then it probably can not cover them all. The foundation goes on very smoothly and is easy to blend. It covers blemishes well and has a very even finish.

I don't have any acnes right now so I can not comment on its effectiveness to get rid of pimples. But, I have been reading reviews that a lot of people found their pimples and acne problems decreasing after just a short term use of this product. If this is indeed true, then it is a very nice product to have in your vanity. However, my recommendation is that if you have severe acne problems and are looking for a solution, the best way is to see a dermatologist to get rid of them instead of covering them up with makeups, no matter how effective or how good of medications it contains.

Although the foundation gives very good coverage and finish, I did notice that it oxidizes a bit on me throughout the day, meaning that after a few hours, your face will start looking a bit dark and orange than when you first applied the foundation. However, the oxidization is not severe, at least when comparing to quite a few other high end ones I've tried. It is at a degree where I definitely noticed the oxidization but I wouldn't be rushing to do that retouch.

What even bothered me more is the fact that although this is an oil free foundation, it doesn't seem to be good at oil controlling. My face got very greasy after just a few hours, and it sure wasn't pretty. I always try out foundations first without any primers or setting powders so I can test out the oil control ability without interference of other products. On a scale of 1-5, with 1 being the worst, and 5 being the best for oily skin people, I would put this foundation at about 2. It can probably make a 3 or 4 with a very good primer and powder on top of it.

Overall, I would say that if you are troubled with acne or blemishes, then this is definitely worth a shot. But do watch out for those of you who have oily skin as I do. If you have many good foundations that you like, then I'd say to skip this one because it probably won't amaze you.

I have been neglecting some of my posts series, so I decided to pick one up as I haven't really been blogging about it. Well, it is that time again to share with you all some lovely beauty secret. This secret is something that I recently learned. Personally, I haven't tried it out yet myself, but hopefully I can report back to you all soon.

Sparkling Beauty Secret is a blog post series where I share with my readers makeup tips, skincare secrets, or just any useful beauty related information. Some of these are self taught, but most of them are through learning from magazines, television programs, and other amazing ladies out there.

We all know that olive oil is a very good natural ingredient to be used in cosmetics. It is also commonly used in our every day beauty routines such as moisturizing our skin and removing makeups. But, did you know that olive oil actually has another benefit to us? It contains very strong anti-inflammatory property. Although olive oil can not be replaced as sunscreen and can not prevent your skin from darkening due to UV rays, it can be used in against of sun burns and other sun damages to our skin. So next time when you are at the beach but forgot your sunblock lotion, pour some olive oil (preferably extra virgin) on your back to prevent sun burns. However, you will still get a nice tan from it.

Tokidoki Perfetto Eyeliner : Draw Tatoo Arts On Your Eyes

I hope I haven't made you all sick yet with bombardments of cuteness from my reviews of the recently launched Tokidoki makeup line, available exclusively at Sephora. Well, if you are then I'm sorry but I have another one ready to go. However, if you are loving these, then sit tight because I prepared another eye candy for you, the Tokidoki Perfetto Eyeliner ($16, 8 shades) in Carina, which is an eggplant color.

I don't usually wear liquid liners (pencil and gel liners are much preferred) but still decided to try out the Perfetto Eyeliner because it is waterproof. Tokidoki claims that you can even draw tattoos with these on your body. They will be temporary and can be easily removed by makeup remover. To give the review a twist, I went for a purple shade rather than the usual black ones that I often wear.

This is one of the best liquid liners I've ever tried. It doesn't smudge and lasts all day long. I have very oily lids so for this to endure that long is simply just amazing. I especially love the applicator. It is not flimsy and allows me to draw very nice lines. However, it is also soft enough to not be dragging my eyelids. The applicator is a little on the bigger side, so don't expect to draw ultra thin lines with these. But, they are very easy to control and extremely convenient to use for beginners.

I've heard stories where people don't think these are pigmentated. But, Carina shows up on me as a very dark purple color. If you are interested in trying these out, I would recommend to go with the deeper shades.

This concludes my series of reviews for the dreamy Tokidoki collection. I think I have an overall positive impression on the brand. I wouldn't say that the items from this collection are best of the best, but they are very decent products that I would recommend people to check out. Plus, how can we say no to such cute packaging.

Tokidoki Prisma Lip Gloss Makes Me Proud To say "I Have Burgers On My Lips"

Many of you have already read my review on the Tokidoki Fantastico Lip Stain ($15), and you didn't really think that I would have left the collection with just one product right? Well, the second cutie up for test is the Prisma Lip Gloss ($15, 16 shades) in the color Burger, which is a bright orange shade.

I don't remember why I picked Burger out of all the shades, but I think the names of these lovely tubes really caught my attention. I mean, who doesn't want to say, "I'm wearing burger on my lips" (laughing out loud at my geekiness ).

The first thing that I saw when I grabbed the lipgloss is that it is big, definitely a giant among my small MAC ones. Size wise, these Tokidoki lipglosses are comparable to LipFusion Color Shine ($38, 14 shades), which I have reviewed one of its colors (Sun) before. These may not be the most convenient ones to carry around, but at least you know you are getting a bargain with the much bigger tubes.

As with other products in the new Tokidoki collection, Prisma Lip Gloss comes with unspeakable cuteness and are scented with sweet and fruity fragrances. I guess sometimes it is ok for burgers to taste like candies. The color pigmentation is quite sheer but is very nice because certain shades (Adios, Ninja Dog, SANDy) worry me a bit if the finish is too bright. What I especially love about this product is the fact that it doesn't settle into fine lines and really makes my lips look fuller. It gives you the kind of glossy and sexy lips that every girl adores.

One unique feature of the Prisma Lip Gloss that I want to mention is its applicator. Unlike the usual brush or sponge tips, these lipglosses come with paddle applicators. It did felt a bit awkward at first and took me few tries to get used to it, but the paddle tips actually work wonderfully and apply products evenly onto the lips. As you can see, my praise for this is nonstop. If you are interested in this new makeup line, definitely give the lip gloss a try.

I apologize again that due to a family emergency, my absence from blogging had to be extended for a bit longer, but everything is good now. I am so excited to be back because I have so much to share with you all. The mega cute and dreamy makeup line Tokidoki, created by artist Simone Legno, brings wonderland to Sephora. And it is no doubt that the limited edition collection has been the talk of the town. As the usual me who is a big sucker for girly packaging, I couldn't resist the temptation and picked up a few from the recently launched line.

The first up for test is the Fantastico Lip Stain ($15, 5 shades) in Cactus Friends, which is a bright coral color.

I have to admit that I was never a lip stain girl. I actually don't really understand why some people like them. Lip stains are usually very dry, lack in variety of colors, and often stain my lips. So I really didn't have high hopes for the Tokidoki one.

However, the packing is indeed awfully cute. It shapes like a marker and applies like one. The pointed tip is also very easy and convenient to use. The lip stain is very small and slim, so it can fit into any pockets and would be perfect to toss in your purse. What I like about this more than other lip stains I've tried is the fact that it is not as drying as the others. The color pigmentation is also buildable for both subtle or dramatic looks. It does take a few practices to achieve an even finish, but the result is well worth it. Plus, I don't often find bright reds suite me, but I actually love how Cactus Friends looks on my lips.

Of course then, certain features of the lip stain also annoys me a little. One downside that I noticed is that the marker seems to dry up quite fast, although I always keep the cap on. At this rate, the stain would be out in a few weeks, which with a not-so-low price tag, it just doesn't seem worth it to me. And on top of all these, the major weak point is the fact that the lip stain is not really long-lasting. If you think this is as enduring as the MAC Pro Longwear Lipstain Marker ($16, 9 shades), well, you really need to think twice. This lip stain fades away in just a few hours, and even some minor drinking or eating will rube the colors off. The decreased price obviously means that you are not getting a full size product. Here is a comparison between a regular size Sephora by OPI nail polish and a smaller bottle in the mini set. Out of the 4 colors in the set, I only really found an interest in 2 of them, and they are not really unique either. My favorite out of the set is Iris I was Thinner and Leaf Him at the Altar. I love the super cute names for each color, and these are beautiful shades for spring and summer. However, am I impressed by them? Not really. First, I have to apologize for my lack of blogging lately because real life is a bit hectic right now. But, I took some time today to go green because April 22 is Earth Day.

Nail Pick It : OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui

I have to admit that with low maintenance and laziness, my natural nails aren't the prettiest and of course aren't something I like to flash around. But no worries because nail polishes are a girl's best friend. I haven't really dedicate much time on this blog for nail products, which I do have to apologize because they are adorable and practical and definitely deserve a spot on my beauty list.

Nail Pick It is a blog post series in which I pick and share one nail product that I love and wear the most at the moment. It could be a nail polish, a Konad nail art, or just a certain nail style.

Please don't throw rotten tomatoes at me when I say that I don't like OPI nail polishes. I know I belong to the minority of girls who doesn't go crazy for this brand, and of course I have my many reasons for this. OPI tends to chip and break on me easily. The prices are also way out of control for a bottle of nail polish ($8 - over $10 depending on where you buy them). If you want to know my favorite nail to go brand, it has to be Zoya because I am seriously a die hard fan for their high qualities and much affordable prices ($6). But, this is not to say that I don't wear OPI. Occasionally, I do come across gorgeous shades that just lure me in.

The much anticipated OPI Spring/Summer 2010 Collection, Hong Kong, takes us to the far East with 12 modern and edgy shades. My top pick of the collection is Jade Is The New Black ($8.50). With Chanel's Jade ($25) getting on everyone's hit list, green is officially back. But, being the usual me, I obviously had to find something a bit different, and that is when I laid my eyes on Suzi Says Feng Shui ($8.50), which is a beautiful blue creme color with a grey undertone. Although I'm not so sure what Feng Shui has to do with nail polishes, I'm definitely having the best of luck with this and getting lots of compliments. The color is just right. Not too light and Not too dark. It is the perfect shade to wear all year long.

Until recently, I never really had an efficient way to store my lippies. I either tried to lay them out in my drawer (which is a horrible idea because I had to look through every single one to find the color I want) or stand them up in a case (which is also a very bad move because some lipsticks don't have a flat bottom).

But these problems are now solved as I found a perfect solution from Makeup Alley, a custom lipsticks holders. What an awesome idea. It is a very easy way to store my lipsticks, and I don't have to scramble in the morning to look for them.

The Beauty Mixer : MAC Honeylove Lipstick + MAC Baby Blooms Lipglass

I love nude lips, and this is very obvious from the fact that the majority of my lipstick collection is some kind of nude colors. I used to love pale nude lips, but now I try to stay away from colors that make me look sick. Instead, I enjoy nude colors with a hint of flesh. My new favorite lip products combination gives me a radiant bare finish without the sickly pale look.

MAC Honeylove Lipstick ($14): Honeylove is a matte nude color with a pink undertone. I was a bit wary at first that the matte formula would be drying on my lips. However, it glides on smoothly and is not drying as some matte lipsticks tend to do.

MAC Baby Blooms Lipglass (From Graphic Garden Collection Lip Bags $34.50): Baby Blooms is a bronzy lipgloss with a frost finish and tons of golden shimmer. The color in the tube looks a bit too much for a nude look. However, when applied on lips, the bronzyness and golden shimmer is not over powering, but add a hint of warmth to the finish.

Laura Mercier Secret Finish Mattifying : My New Best Matte Friend

I'm pretty sure that by now, most of you know that I have extremely oily skin. So, any product that helps control oil or delivers matte finish interests me. This is why I was jumping up and down when I learned that Laura Mercier added two new members to its Shine Control Collection, Smooth Focus Pressed Setting Powder - Shine Control ($32) and Secret Finish - Mattifying ($27). The latter is what I will be reviewing today.

More about the product : Primarily for touch-ups throughout the day over makeup, this innovative formula 'soaks up' facial oil and mattifies the skin on contact. The lightweight gel removes shine for hours, leaving a translucent, matte finish. It's gentle enough to use over any Laura Mercier foundation and is free of oils, parabens, and fragrances.

This is an easy review because it is not difficult to see the result. Once the gel touches my face, it works its magic and immediately sucks in any oil on the surface, leaving a very velvet and matte finish. However, you have to be extremely careful when using this over makeups. Using too much product at once or applying it too roughly will cause it to smudge your makeup. Instead of rubbing it onto the skin, I recommend gently patting this over the foundation that you already have on your face. I am truly amazed by its effective and fast shine eliminating ability.

To further test this product, I tried applying it as a primer before my foundation as Laura Mercier also suggests this way to better control oil secretion. I have to say that I love using it this way much better. I use this as a primer before my makeups, and my face would be shine free all day long. I don't even need any blotting or touch up during the day.

I started off with some oily moisturizer on my arm.

Blogosphere Buzz : MAC Give Me Liberty of London Collection

Hello ladies. How is your Easter weekend so far? I went to see the movie The Last Song, which is a very nice film, but definitely not as good as I had expected. I think the recently launched (March 11, 2010) MAC Give Me Liberty of London Collection is much more interesting. The gorgeous packaging and limited edition shades are definitely attracting a lot of attentions, especially in the beauty blogosphere.

Initially, I was really interested in the eye shadows ($14.50, 5 shades), but unfortunately, the only shadow in the collection that has at least a decent color pay off is the limited edition shade Birds & Berries (Veluxe Pearl). Bough Grey (Satin) is a beautiful bluish grey shade in the pot. However, a swatch of it in the MAC store shows almost no pigmentation and the bluish tone also fades away on the skin, leaving just a dirty grey color. Similarly, Give Me Liberty of London (Matte) and Free to Be (Matte) would also require the fairest skin to even have the colors show up nicely. I have to say that the shadows in this collection is quite disappointing.

The true gem in the collection is actually the lipsticks ($14, 4 shades). Other than Peachstock (Satin), which is a color in the MAC Pro permanent line, all other 3 shades are limited edition colors. I missed out on Lavender Whip (Cremesheen), so I grabbed the chance to score Blooming Lovely (Amplified), which is a creamy lilac shade. Petals & Peacocks (Amplified)'s bright fuchsia pink color is lovely but doesn't really suite my yellow skin. My favorite of the stack is Ever Hip (Cremesheen), and it is a gorgeous peachy-orange shade. Unfortunately, it is sold out everywhere, but check your local MAC counter and store for possible restocks.

The tinted lipglasses ($14, 4 shades) have some pretty shades, but they can be easily duped. I bought them anyways so I can pair them with the lipsticks.

My Love & Hate Relationship With Lush Love Lettuce Fresh Face Mask

I love to try out new brands and products, especially one that is unique and one of a kind. This is why I have been fascinated by Lush products. Lush makes bath and body treats that you don't usually find at other retailers. This is also why I have been on a mission to try out all of Lush's fresh face masks. These lovelies are made with fresh ingredients and are truly what you need to pamper your face with. Well, let's start with the most popular one, Love Lettuce Fresh Face Mask ($7.95).

This is an effective exfoliating mask that creates smooth and radiant skin. It is easy to use and is probably one of the best exfoliating masks I've tried. However, if you have very sensitive skin, I would recommend to use a light hand with this because the crushed almond shells in the mask can be a bit abrasive.

One question I always get when I talk about this mask is, "Does it smell like lettuce or salad?". Unfortunately, it doesn't. It has a a very strong lavender scent that is very relaxing and comforting. I love it for its effective exfoliating purpose. I use it 1-2 times per week, and it is just a nice treat for my face after a long day of work. However, everything is fine until one week before the mask expires. I noticed that I still have half of the pot left, so in order to finish the pot before it goes sour, I would use it every other day for the last week. Thankfully, this did not irritate my skin. However, we all know that exfoliating at such frequent terms is simply not healthy.

Love Lettuce is a very decent mask as well as a wonderful exfoliator. But it is nothing special. Many of my other masks and exfoliators can achieve the same, if not better, results without the fear of fast approaching expiration date (usually 2 - 3 weeks). If you are new to the brand, I would definitely recommend this product, but I'm sure you would agree with me after trying it that it is defintiely not a repurchase material.

Breaking Beauty News : Shu Uemura Exits American Market

It is indeed another sad news for the beauty community. L'Oréal USA officially announced on Monday that it has decided to pull the luxury Japanese brand Shu Uemura out of the U.S. market. Shu Uemura will still maintain 80% of its markets in Asia, but due to the recession and a change of focus in L'Oréal's product division, all U.S. operations for Shu Uemura will be stopped. The move will not affect the brand's markets in other countries.

This will be a loss to the American cosmetic world. Shu Uemura is a very luxury brand with prices not very affordable to many. However, the brand does make some wonderful products. It is very sad to hear that after the brand pulls out of the U.S. market, the only way for American customers to purchase its products is through its website or import. Some of its products are cult favorites and hearing this news only makes us sad. Hopefully with the economy recovers soon, the brand can reenter the U.S. market one day. I will be waiting.

The weather is definitely warming up because I actually sweated a bit when I was running around the town earlier today (meaning getting my MAC Liberty of London stuff). Finally, spring is approaching us. If you have been following fashion trends for the upcoming season, you would notice that many of them are re-promotions from some of the old trends from last year. And what can represent the classy spring beauty better than the famous side braid by Lauren Conrad (aka LC).

Her famous side braid starts as a traditional French braid and then becomes a regular braid that is pinned back to her ear. You can layer the braid on top of other hair or hide it under. Then you have it, a simple yet beautiful style.

You don't have to be a trend hunter to notice that almost every celebrity is launching their own line of merchandises. Be it perfumes, clothing, or toys, if you can name it, someone is making it. I guess product endorsements are not growing money fast enough. Engraving your own name is the way to go. Tarina Tarantino, the famous accessory designer who is known for her use of bright colors and unconventional draft, released her own cosmetic collection exclusively at Sephora in January. Since this big announcement, I have been waiting to get my hands on these pretty babes. So finally a few weeks ago, I took home the Pearl Glow Primer ($32).

This new beauty collection is every girl's dream comes true with the pink and adorable packaging. The primer comes in a glass bottle with a pink cap. Very cute, yet elegant and beautiful. I love to showcase this on my vanity.

Instead of calling this a primer, I think this product is more appropriate as an illuminator. When used by itself, it creates the most beautiful and glowy shine to the skin. Not overwhelmed with glitters, it gives you a brightened and polished finish. I love using this on top of my nose and cheek bones to give my face more texture. However, once you apply another product on top of the primer, the shine will be completely covered. As a result, the primer becomes kind of pointless. Since this is a primer, it is supposed to be applied under other products. I love the idea of a combination of primer and illuminator. Unfortunately, the idea is not practical.

I then tried mixing this with my foundation, and it also gives a very beautiful finish. So, I have concluded that you shouldn't use this as a primer because you will be disappointed. But, try this alone or with your foundation. You may be surprised.

Before the Twilight beauty returns as Bella Swan in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse later this year, Kristen Stewart (aka K.Stew) ditched her on screen lover Robert Pattinson for a role in the movie The Runaways, which is a biographical film based on the legendary all girl rock band in the 70s. Kristen plays Joan Jett, along with Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie. At the L.A. Premiere of the movie, Kristen exchanged her usually boyish and edgy fashion for a beautiful pink dress from the Doo.Ri Spring 2010 collection.

She went with a very soft and natural look. It really made her eye color pop and is a perfect match for her strong face. I think many of us would also appreciate her cute dress rather than her usually style. The bright pink color compliments her pale skin very well. Overall, I have to say that Kristen pulled this one nicely.

If you are a fan of the HD foundation, you will not be disappointed with this blush. It glides on smoothly and applies very similar to cream blushes. But, it is much easier to blend than cream blushes do, and it absorbs right into the skin, leaving a very soft and even finish. It feels super light and moisturizing. Even after a long day, it doesn't cake or fade away. I usually apply this with my fingers by first dotting them on my cheeks and then blend them out. I've also tried this with my MAC 187 Duo Fibre Brush ($42). Both ways gives you that natural and beautiful look. As you can probably tell, my praise for this blush can go days without stopping.

HD (high definition) makeups were originally designed for celebrities working on screen or with photographs because HD products contain light reflectors that give you that flawless look on camera. So, the true test for this product came when I took a picture of myself with the blush on, and I was blown away. The blush looks so natural and perfect on me because of its soft-focus effect. It looked like I just ran a mile and was blushing naturally. I deem this the best looking blush on me.
